Goatman’s Bridge, Texas – Otherwise known as the Old Alton Bridge, this old bridge connecting Copper Canyon and Denton was built in 1884. It got the name Goatman’s Bridge because of a black goat farmer who lived north of the bridge, and who was a very successful and honest businessman. However, at the time, he was still unwanted by many white people in the area. So, the Klansmen decided to throw him off the bridge, but when they looked down, he was nowhere to be found. Afterwards, they quickly got to his home and murdered his wife and children. People say that if you cross the bridge with your headlights turned off, you will see the Goatman on the other side.
