The man in the middle is Col. Anthony Biddle, who was a hand-to-hand combat instructor during World War II. He trained many soldiers who to fight with their bayonets if necessary. Reports say that he was able to disarm all these people, even though they had quite a few bayonets pointed at his neck.

Numerous members of US Marine Corps were thought by Biddle. He was a true pioneer of hand-to-hand combat in the Marines.
