Lake Reschen, Italy – Located in South Tyrol, this lake is special due to the fact that it drowned 1,290 acres of land, and a small village consisting of 163 houses. Visitors are still able to see the bell tower of a church from the 14th century, and can even get there by foot during the winter, when the water freezes.
