Lake Natron, Tanzania – Found in the Arusha Region in northern Tanzania, this salt and soda lake (its pH value is sometimes above 12) is truly a unique sight. Due to the large quantities of sodium carbonate (which was used for mummification in Ancient Egypt) found here, the animals that die here are preserved in an incredible way.
